Accessibility testing that catches regressions in the pull request
Continuous WCAG 2.1 AA checks on every deploy, with new issues flagged in the pull request that introduced them. Know you are compliant today, and find out the moment that changes.
An accessibility audit is a snapshot. The week after it ships, a design token changes, a modal loses its focus trap and a form field loses its label. With the European Accessibility Act now enforced and ADA claims continuing, a one-off audit is no longer enough.
QAShift compares every deploy against your accepted accessibility baseline. Existing issues are tracked as known debt, and anything new is reported directly in the pull request with the exact element, rule and fix.
What our accessibility testing covers
Colour contrast
Text and interactive elements meet WCAG 1.4.3 and 1.4.11 contrast ratios across themes.
Keyboard navigation
Every journey can be completed without a mouse, with visible focus and no traps.
Screen reader semantics
Labels, roles, names and live regions make sense to assistive technology.
Forms and errors
Inputs have labels, errors are announced and instructions are not conveyed by colour alone.
Structure
Headings, landmarks and reading order follow a logical hierarchy.
Media and motion
Images have text alternatives and animation respects reduced-motion preferences.
What it catches before your customers do
- A brand colour update drops button contrast below 3:1
- A new modal traps keyboard focus and blocks checkout
- A form redesign removes labels, so screen readers announce nothing
- An audit passes in March and the product is non-compliant by May
Two ways to get it done
Run it yourself
Clearpath scans every deploy, diffs results against your baseline and posts new regressions as pull-request comments. It runs unlimited in your CI.
We run it for you
Accessibility scanning is included on every managed plan. Your engineer adds keyboard and screen-reader journey tests and verifies issues before filing them.
What you get
- WCAG 2.1 AA results on every deploy
- New-regression comments in pull requests
- Element, rule and suggested fix for each issue
- An accessibility history for compliance evidence
Frequently asked questions
Is automated accessibility testing enough for compliance?
Automated checks reliably catch a large share of WCAG failures, such as contrast, labels and structure. Some criteria need human judgement, which is why managed plans add journey-level keyboard and screen-reader testing.
Which standard do you test against?
WCAG 2.1 Level AA by default, which underpins the European Accessibility Act, Section 508 and most ADA settlements.
Will this flood us with existing issues?
No. Existing issues become your accepted baseline. Only issues introduced by a change are reported in that change’s pull request.
Is accessibility testing included in managed plans?
Yes. Accessibility scanning is included and never counted against your test allowance on every managed plan.
