Database testing that proves your data is still right
Integrity, migrations, constraints and reconciliation tested before every release. A QAShift engineer verifies that the numbers your customers and finance team rely on are still correct.
Data bugs are the most expensive bugs to find late. A migration that truncates a column or a constraint dropped during a refactor can corrupt records for weeks before anyone notices, and fixing the data afterwards is far harder than fixing the code.
QAShift’s managed database testing validates schema changes, migrations and data rules as part of your release process, with queries and row-level evidence for every finding.
What our database testing covers
Migrations
Schema changes apply and roll back cleanly, with data preserved and transformed correctly.
Integrity and constraints
Keys, uniqueness, nullability and referential integrity hold after every change.
Business rules
Balances, totals and derived values match the rules they are meant to follow.
Stored procedures and triggers
Logic inside the database behaves as expected for normal and edge inputs.
Reconciliation
Counts and sums match across systems that should agree.
Performance of key queries
Critical queries stay within agreed time budgets as data grows.
What it catches before your customers do
- A migration silently truncates long customer names
- Duplicate records appear after a uniqueness constraint is dropped
- Invoice totals drift from line items after a rounding change
- A report query goes from seconds to minutes as data grows
Two ways to get it done
Run it yourself
Self-serve plans focus on application, API and front-end testing. Database assurance is delivered on managed plans.
We run it for you
Your engineer maps critical tables and rules, writes reconciliation and integrity checks, and verifies every migration before release.
What you get
- Integrity and reconciliation checks
- Migration verification before release
- Query and row-level evidence
- Findings in your morning report
Frequently asked questions
Which databases do you test?
Relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server and Oracle, plus common warehouses. Scope is agreed during onboarding.
Do you need production data?
No. Testing uses staging or masked copies. Where production checks are needed, they are read-only and agreed in advance.
Is database testing available self-serve?
No. Database and data assurance is part of managed plans, because it relies on an engineer understanding your data model.
Can you verify a large migration before we run it?
Yes. Migrations are rehearsed on a copy, with before-and-after reconciliation to prove nothing was lost or changed unexpectedly.
